More and more people are realizing the importance of Ayurveda in the permanent cure of chronic diseases In this episode we encourage a debate on Allopathy versus Ayurveda. Ayurveda is an Indian form of medicine, whose origins go back to more than 6,000 years. Allopathy is a much recent, western form of medicine, and has the highest reach and patronage in the world Its me Suresh Menon with my girl friend Alexa in this episode of BigShow Prime. Allopathy uses chemicals and synthetics to cure an ailment, while Ayurveda uses herbs. Ayurvedic medicines do contain chemicals of course, but they are all naturally derived. Allopathy is definitely preferred when there is an emergency where the medicines actually quell the symptoms and makes the patient feel a bit more better Ayurveda instead addresses the root of the disease and it cannot be used on a dying patient.
People who fail in Allopathy, rush to Ayurveda, hoping for a miracle It never works that way. Ayurveda works on the principle that every living being, every individual, every human being is a bundle of three energies called the Vata, Pitta and Kapha. This is more of quantum physics where energy is matter and vice versa Einstein’s theory was known to the Indian practitioners 5,000 years ago. And this is quoted in the Advaita. Wow! Yes. Every treatment is holistic and ensures a balance of the three energies in the human body For this very reason, Ayurveda does not have any side effects. On the other hand every single drug in Allopathy has side effects. which varies for every individual. Treatments in Allopathy are generic. For instance high body temperature or fever is always addressed with paracetamol. But in Ayurveda, the treatment will be different for each and every person, depending on their bodies. For this very reason, it is very important to consult only well experienced Ayurvedic physicians. Care should be taken to not fall prey to several of these new Ayurvedic treatment centres Yes, it is estimated that the Ayurveda system uses 2,000 plants and there are over 350,000 formulations No ayurvedic physician with a recent certification will be competent enough to handle the science well. Impossible. Because Ayurveda is now getting very popular there are a lot of quacks too who start practicing Ayurveda after displaying some mint leaves and a few nuts on their investigation table (Laughter) This actually brings us to the importance of the Guru-Shishya parampara of the olden days. It is heartening to note that the system is still in vogue in the State of Kerala, in India especially for Ayurvedic learning Something that needs to be considered is the body’s built-in immune system. Use of antibiotics results in the permanent damage to the immune system, by making them resistant to allopathic drugs. Ayurveda on the other hand, increases the immunity and expels the disease permanently. Something that needs a thought over here is that you and me of course, was made. We were made out of one single cell, and this cell had enough intelligence to multiple, and make a nose, two eyes, two ears, two hands, a mouth tongue, two legs, a respiratory system, a cardio-vascular system, a digestive system and what not. This means that every cell in the human body is more than capable of taking care of itself as long as a balance of the energies are maintained. This is exactly what the Ayurvedic system does. It balances the energies of the human body. If that is the case, what about babies who are born with physical abnormalities. Physical deformities and abnormalities in new born babies are because of genetic chromosomal and environmental disorders. Rather than questioning the process of life formation, we need to explore the parents’ lifestyle. What did they do to deliver such a single cell to start off with? No wonder! No wonder what? I need to meet your parents You look so different from me (laughter) Allopathy only manages a disease, while Ayurveda cures a disease, for life, permanently. Why is Ayurveda declared an unlawful practice in the world? Ayurveda is an Indian form of medicine, and over 65% of the Indian population, are known to be trusting Ayurveda. My research says it is almost 70%. Good. However outside India, Ayurveda is considered unlawful in some countries. One of the reasons is that Ayurveda does not have a systemized, standardized set of treatment, for all the people because Ayurveda is a treatment that is different for every individual Do you think that the pharmaceutical lobby also plays a big role? I am not competent enough to say that, but it looks like its itching you to put me into a problem (laughter) In recent times however, Ayurveda is being unofficially accepted in most of the countries worldwide. Yes, thats great. Ayurvedic cosmetics and toiletry products are a craze Did your soulmate who stays 5,000 miles away…. Yes receive the ayurvedic cosmetics you sent her last month? (laughter) Cost wise, ayurveda is dirt cheap as compared to Allopathy. How about cases where surgery is needed? Surgeries exist in Ayurveda too. In fact modern equipment available for diagnosis help the ayurvedic physicians in proper investigations. Lovely. There are still several diseases where allopathy does not have a drug or treatment. An example please? Jaundice for instance. Yellow fever. Even allopathic practitioners prescribe an ayurvedic liver drug as no drug exists in allopathy. Yeah Just struck me. Malaria too. Does ayurveda have a cure for every disease? Yes. ayurveda has a cure for every disease How about cancer? Yes. Not just cancer. The principle of treatment itself virtually guarantees cure for not just the diseases of the present times. But also diseases of the future. You must remember that ayurveda works by strengthening the immune system to repel the disease. But Suresh, don’t you think that in this age when people want instant gratification going to an ayurvedic physician may not be always feasible? Very true. But my point here is why do you want to wait for the disease to come into your body? Instead, why don’t you take preventive measures? Why don’t you take an ayurvedic holiday once a year? What is that? Ayurvedic holiday? Well basically it’s a vacation for a week or two, once a year in an ayurvedic rejuvenation centre. Detox your body. Bring the body’s energies to balance and remain disease free. That’s lovely. 100 marks to you for that suggestion. Okay, how about in the case of a person who suffers a bone fracture? Or a ligament tear? Yes, go to an allopath, get the positioning of the bones right, put in your plaster and then use ayurveda to speed up the process. Speed up? Does it work that way? Of course yes. If a fracture normally takes 30 days to heal, ayurvedic intervention heals a facture in 20 days flat. Wow! Suresh we both know someone who suffers from acid reflux disease. What do you have to suggest to her? First. I am no ayurvedic practitioner. But I will be glad to share what I know about it Yes please. Acid reflux disease is also called the Gastro Esophageal Reflux disease GERD. This is due to mucosal damage caused by stomach acid coming up from the stomach into the esophagus. This causes abnormal relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter, which normally holds the top of the stomach closed. You seem to have done quite a bit of research for her. Blessed she is. Dietary and lifestyle choices may contribute to this. Certain foods and beverages including chocolate, peppermint, fried or fatty foods, coffee, or alcoholic beverages may trigger reflux and heart burn. so, all the good things in life gone So, with initial lifestyle changes, that aims at decreasing the amount of reflux during treatment, the damage to the lining of the esophagus is reconstructed, and thus the sphincters too. Treatment generally takes a couple of months, and the cure is permanent. No surgeries No artificial sphincter rings, nothing. Wow! That means you can get back to your earlier food habits too Hope she is listening As also many of the viewers here, some of whom may be suffering from acid reflux Every ailment has a cure in ayurveda Having originated in India, is the Indian Government doing anything for the development of Ayurveda? Yes, there is a separate ministry called the Ministry of Ayush which does a lot of work for ayurveda development and propagation. Can ayurveda be incorporated in our daily lives? Of course yes there are very simple tips that I can share that can be as automated as brushing your teeth every morning but, we will reserve it for another episode Are we winding up this interesting topic? I am winding up you can stay and chat with everyone if you so wish so my darling, what do you recommend? i started this show with my views and preferences. you may need to go back and view the video again Please like, share and subscribe to this channel and please continue the debate with your comments below this video This is me Suresh menon with my girl friend Alexa signing off from this episode
