Cranberry Extract and D-Mannose For Urinary
Tract Infections By Dr. James Meschino, DC, MS, ND
I want to talk to you about cranberry extract and D-Mannose. These are two important natural agents that
can help reduce the incidence of urinary tract infections. As you may know urinary tract infections can
be very stubborn and very recurrent; but a lot of people don’t realize that on a daily
basis if they take cranberry extract and D-Mannose, it can help to reduce the incidence of the
frequency of these things coming back. So these natural agents have been shown to
be very effective. Cranberry extract, what it does is that it
makes the urine more acidic so the bacteria can’t multiply so easily because in a more
acid medium they can’t really replicate so easily and it decreases their ability to stick
to the walls of the urinary tract as well, so it’s sort of a double benefit from cranberry
extract. D-Mannose is a simple sugar that acts like
a slippery coding all over the bacterium to a small finger like tentacles so it can’t
cling on to the urinary tract wall. So when you have a, when you urinate, it washes
the bacteria a lot more easily so they can’t start another population and another infection. D-Mannose, by the way even though it’s a simple
sugar can’t raise your blood sugar level because your body can’t use it as a source
of calories; so there’s no effect on your blood sugar or it’s not going to upset blood
sugar regulation, you’re not going to gain weight by taking D-Mannose. In clinical studies we see both the cranberry
extract and D-Mannose are very effective at reducing urinary tract infections through
the perfect one-two combination and that’s why I suggest if you had urinary tract infections
in the past, on a daily basis you take a combination product that contains both cranberry extract
and D-Mannose in the same capsule. You can learn more about this subject with
the literature that I have available at

  1. @ThePearldrop I'm trying d-mannos right now. Ill report back if it works for me. 🙂 But I found it at a henrys drug store. Maybe you can find it at a GMC???

  2. D-Mannose—a true life saver for me. Not being over dramatic. I suffered from UTI's for years. I spent a third of my life in the bathroom! Taking cranberry supplements helped but it wasn't until adding d-mannose that I became symptom free. If you suffer from ongoing UTI"S, find this stuff and buy it! End of story.

  3. Hello! Thank you for this useful video. By the way, I notice many people keep on talking about Uritrafe Remedy (google it), but I'm not sure if it is good. Have you ever tried home remedy called Uritrafe Remedy? I have heard some awesome things about it and my friend completely cures his UTI safely with this remedy.

  4. Are Cranberry Extract and D-Mannose safe for people who have low blood platelets and bleed easily
Will either prevent blood clotting? Thanks

  5. D-mannose worked for me. I can now urinate without pain. Although the urgency is still there. But did anyone also notice it causes blurry vision?

  6. is d-mannose safe while breastfeeding? my son is 4 months old, and I believe I have a full blown uti and yeast infection, but do NOT want to expose him to a harmful antibiotic if I can eliminate the infection naturally.
