World’s medical fraternity has rightly dubbed hypertension as the ‘silent killer’. Hypertension relates to rush of blood pressure in the arteries. Constant high blood pressure can lead to life-threatening complications like: Heart attack, Stroke, Kidney failure, Eye damage, Arteriosclerosis, etc. Normally, systolic and diastolic blood pressure should be around 120/80 mm/Hg. However, when it shoots up to 149 mm/Hg and 90 mm/Hg or more, then it is referred to as hypertension. The most common symptoms of this condition are: Severe headache, Shortness of breath, Nausea and Dizziness. Hypertension cannot be attributed to one single factor. It can be caused by a combination of factors such as: Smoking, Alcoholism, Stress, Obesity, High-salt diet, Increasing age, Genetics and Chronic kidney disease. But don’t lose heart.
To keep the ‘silent killer’ at bay, some simple home remedies can be of use to you: Take a cup of warm water. Squeeze half a lemon in it. Mix it well. To reduce sourness, you can also add honey. Drink this regularly on an empty stomach. The next home remedy that you can try. Grind equal quantities of dried watermelon seeds and poppy seeds (khus khus). and take 1 teaspoon of this mixture every morning on an empty stomach and then again in the evening. Another helpful remedy is to have 1-2 crushed garlic cloves daily. If you do not like eating raw garlic or if it causes a burning sensation,
then take it along with a glass of milk. Some tips to help you deal with high blood pressure. Include watermelons and bananas in your diet. Coconut water is also very good for high blood pressure and nausea. Have oats. Avoid alcoholic and caffeinated beverages. And reduce salt intake. To avoid salt, flavor your food with herbs and spices, even lemon.

  1. My blood pressure reached a dangerous level in my 50s. For many years I ate as much as I wanted, and ate whatever I wanted. My neighbor,who is in his late 40s, almost died from a stroke. His BP was 220 over 170 when the medics arrived. He has recovered quite a bit since being released from the hospital. His speech is no longer slurred and he has regained alot of use of his right arm but he still cant walk very well. After seeing what happened to him, I had my BP checked. It was 200 over 150! My doctor gave me meds but they didn't help much. I made sudden changes in my diet and began reading about high blood pressure. Potassium lowers blood pressure and not many foods have potassium. I've been eating a healthy balanced diet for 6 months now. I'm 5' 11" and I was 235 lbs. Now I'm 188 lbs and my BP averages about 125 over 85 without meds! I drink alot of chocolate soymilk which tastes great. The soy really made a difference. Soy is rich in potassium. Raw spinach is also rich in potassium.The USRDA for potassium is 3,500 Mg per day. Like most people, I was getting little or no potassium before. I've completey eliminated red meat from my diet. I keep my fat and sodium intake very low and eat fresh fruit and raw vegetables every day. I used to feel dizzy after getting out of bed and felt tired all the time. I feel much better now and have alot more energy. I still smoke like a chimney. I'm still working on that problem. Nutrition!! Meds are good at the beginning to bring down your BP, but with proper nutrition I dont need meds.

  3. Thank you, Beautiful! I will add more lemons and oatmeal to my diet. I'm wondering, about how quickly can my blood pressure be lowered? I have to get it down before surgery in a few weeks and I really don't want to get on medication.

  7. I would like to share my experience. I had high BP around 180/100's -. The doc prescribed meds. I took for few days and could see my bp drop down to 140's. Then I thought, something should be wrong with my body as bp is natural response to any harm caused to body. ( I think tablet is must when BP is too high, You dont want your head to break , or your hands and feet to pain – (I had intense pain on left hand), or damage your eyes and kidneys! )

    Here is what I did when my bp came down to 140's range 

    1. Stopped bp medicine ( I knew I will not die when my bp is in 140 – 150's. This is the RISK I took. )

    2. I drank 2500 ML WARM water before 7 PM daily. ( I had 2 glasses lemon water in morning followed by rest of glasses of water 1/2 hour before each meal and 1.5 hrs after each meal. Spaced it such that I fulfill my target of 2500ml . I got myself a big glass (400ml) , so that I dont forget or get discouraged to drink water. I set my alarm at intervals as I dont fancy drinking water 🙂 )

    3. Ensured I didnt overeat especially at night , so that I get good sleep.

    4. I never took more than 3/4 tsp salt per day ( ~1500 mg Sodium . 1/4 salt was 500 mg Na approximately)

    5. I drank cucumber juice daily , sometimes soaked water with corriander seeds or fenugreek seeds or 1 clove spice ( though not every time 🙂 ).Included lot of corriander leaves, mint and curry leaves on daily diet. ( I glass water + 1 spoon yoghurt +1 small pinch green chilli + Few curry leaves + corriander and mint leaves + small ginger piece->blend and drank. Yes Its tasty)

    6. In 1 week my BP was 121/85 and is consistent now. Yay !

    This is my tested experience, but I am no doctor. I dont even know if its water or green leaves magic or herbs or lemon magic, End result –> IT WORKED FOR ME ! I now fully believe food is medicine.

    Simple WARM water therapy worked for me.

  9. I drink, power lift/ body build, smoke and drink a fuck tone of coffee. Pork Scratchings are also my favourite snack…. my blood pressure is fucked up

  10. I tried the lemon juice and the garlic remedy…..for 3 years i was 11/7 but I stopped the therapy…….I will start again because at least lemon and garlic do not have side effects!!!!

  13. This blood pressure level solution “Zοtοsο yuku” (Google it) does work. Other items I have tried out only lowered the blood pressure for the meantime. I am glad I discovered this since it does work. My blood pressure has been persistently running around 145/90. Within normal conditions, my Blood pressure has become 120/70.
