Taking Charge of Your Health

No, actually, I do not recommend vaccines.
I have a general policy. I don’t recommend anything that I believe does more harm than
good or might possibly do more harm than good, and I believe that vaccines fall into that
category. Well, when a child is born, the child always has a small amount of immunity
inherent as it’s born. It has a greater amount of immunity if it’s a vaginal birth
and it’s not a C-section because of all the good bacteria that come in during the
actual birth through the birth canal. And then, of course, we get additional immunity
from the immunoglobulins inside cytokines and the colostrums from breastfeeding. And
as the child grows up through every single condition in which they’re exposed to any
type of bacteria or illness and they fight it off with the immunity that they already
have, they gain additional immunity. So every time a child gets an illness, we’ve got
more immunity after the child has finished fighting off the illness. So actually, in
that respect, illnesses are good and even being exposed to things that the parents are
trying to get away from like keeping an aseptic or totally sanitary kitchen, like you’d
be in a hospital, has not really been shown to be a good thing due to something called
the hygiene hypothesis, which is we’re making things too clean. We’re supposed to be exposed
to these things. You drop a piece of food; you pick it up; you eat it. And when I was
a kid — I’m only 58 now, but when I was a kid, nobody got smacked for picking up something
off the floor. Half the time, we didn’t even rinse it. You put it in your mouth. Hey,
you’ve got some bacteria in your mouth, your body identified them. If they were a
problem, you got a little bit more of an immune function from it. So we develop our immunity
by having exposure to and fighting the different things that we are exposed to, not by seeing
that we’re not exposed to them. Okay. Well, historically, if you go back, let’s say,
many, many decades or even hundreds of years, the reason that you would often have children
dying from these same diseases, it seems to be mostly due to poor sanitation. So we didn’t
know that it wasn’t a good idea to have the garbage dump in the middle of town. I
mean, it was convenient. Why not have it right there? Why should we have to have things carted
away and brought far away? We didn’t have indoor plumbing, so we had greater amounts
of exposures to different pathogens because of not understanding cleanliness and not understanding
sanitation. And due to that, our immune system had a much greater assault than it would ever
have today when we know these things and keep houses cleaner. And so the immune system wasn’t
working as well because it was having so many different assaults, and one more assault could
be enough to throw you over and your body couldn’t handle it anymore. Well, if we
get a childhood disease — we being any child — and basically at any age, and you’ve
got measles, you’ve got mumps, you’ve got chicken pox, and there are quite a number
of different ones. Again, the body identifies it, and if we get it in the normal channels,
which means that you got it through exposure most likely to somebody else that had it.
And usually you can even tell who it came from because somebody had the condition and
some child was exposed to it and they go, “Oh, yeah. Yeah, I was exposed to this particular
person’s son or daughter.” Again, the immune system identifies it. The body sees
what it has to do in order to fight it off, and after it has fought it off, it recognizes
it and you basically develop an immunity to that particular pathogen. So you get measles,
you get mumps, you get chicken pox. How bad a case of any of those you get is dependent
on how well your immune system is functioning, which has to do with lots of things like diet.
But once you’ve gotten it and you have fought it off, you then have lifetime immunity. So
with maybe an exception of one in a million depends on what study you look at if you ever
are exposed to chicken pox again or measles again or many, many times again, you’re not
going to get it. You will have no reaction whatsoever because you’ve got your immunity,
your body sees it. “No, that’s not going to affect us. We are not going to allow that
to have an effect.”

  1. It's true. My friend told me she was kept in an almost 100% sanitary place throughout her childhood and she ended up getting sick from everything as a child, while her friends, who grew up in a house with dogs and cats, ended up healthy and nothing would affect them whatsoever. The same applies to cold. Some parents dress their children up too much. But the child, who runs around naked outside in the sun, or at home, barefoot will get less sick, than a child, who's constantly being dressed up.

  2. @PlanetVerdia This is EXACTLY what happened to me as a child. My mother was germ phobic and she was always wiping us off with antibacterial cleaners so my brother and I wouldn't come in contact with a germ. My uncle, an MD warned my mother but she didn't listen.

As a result when I got to school I was out of school more than I was in and frankly I don't know how they passed me from grade to grade. I was ended up being seriously behind academically and socially as a result. Thanks Mom! NOT!

  3. @jerseygrl5 OMG! I'm sorry to hear. Thanks for sharing this!!! How have you managed to boost your immunity again? I know a friend of mine is 31 and he still gets sick every now and then. I was constantly exposed to cold and animals as a child, now I get sick like once every 5 years, and only if I didn't get enough sleep.

  4. @PlanetVerdia Because I was on antibiotics all the time I ended up with a systemic yeast (candida infection) on top of it all. I felt like garbage all the time. I changed by life by avoiding all sugar (but don't drink the chemical poisons like aspartame!), cut back dramatically on all carbs, I take regular probiotics, regular aerobic exercise and lots of sunshine. The body is a wonderous thing and today I just don't get sick! It's crazy! I might get a small cold in the winter but it's not bad!

  5. @jerseygrl5 Thanks God!!! I have a friend, who's mom kept him on antibiotics throughout his childhood. Now every time I call him, he's sick. It's crazy. I'm going to tell him to stay the hell away from all the vaccines and switch to everything raw. Thank you for sharing your story with me 🙂

  6. @PlanetVerdia Tell him he can repair his health. I am living proof. Tell him to stay away from western medicine because they will just made you sicker with their dependence on pharmaceuticals. Go natural, no vaccines, good healthy food, no GMO's, as much organic as he can. Also keep away from processed foods and fast food. I know it's tough but once he has repaired his health he can have those things on ocassion. Gotta run! Wishing you a happy and healthy 2011!

  7. @instagasm Find an integrative medical doctor or a Naturopathic doctor and get a full evaluation/work up. It'll be the best $500 you've ever spent!

  8. i'm nearly 36 years old and the last time i can remember being REALLY sick (for a week!) was the summer that i was 21 (it was a very stressful year for me because i had lost 2 very close family members and i think the stress contributed to me getting sick). the only other time since then that i have been sick was when i was around 30. i had a high fever and chills…i drank plenty of fluids and went to bed and sweated it out through the night and was better the next day. no meds!

  10. I totally agree with this guy! I have 10 kids & we vaccinated the 1st 5. WE treated fevers with tylenol & gave them antibiotics. They are my sickest kids still, with tons of allergies, asthma & more. My younger 5 have had no antibiotics, vaccines & we let fevers run their course unless they get over 102. My younger 5 are my healthiest. Never had the flu. They did get whooping cough last year but got over it quickly using natural remedies.

  11. Sadly, vaccine makers have no incentive to change their ways. They make huge profits but are totally protected fromlawsuits because Congress granted them immunity in 1986. Families are paying for the damages vaccines are causing.
