Taking Charge of Your Health

Have you ever experienced having excess
fluid accumulate in different parts of your body? This could be due to injury
insect bites, traveling on an airplane where you notice some swelling in your
feet or your ankles, or perhaps you’re a woman who’s pregnant. However, this could
also be due to more serious conditions, like heart failure, liver disease, or
kidney issues, as well as cancer. What I’m going to show you in this video are five
natural ways that you can use to naturally drain the excess fluids out of
your body. Hi everyone, I’m Deanna Won. I’m the
Founder of Keynotes to Life. I’m an international best-selling author,
speaker, leadership consultant, and holistic health coach. I focus on helping
people take personal leadership over their lives and over their health so
that they can heal holistically from cancer, or other chronic health
conditions. Now you may be wondering how I got into doing this. Well, I was working
as a physicist and colonel in the Air Force and I thought everything was great…
until I got diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and I actually ended up in
hospice, being told that I had four weeks left to live. By God’s grace, I
miraculously survived and that is what fills me with so much passion to share
my message and to share with you all the research that I’ve done so that you
don’t have to suffer like I did. In this channel, I share tips on holistic ways of
healing from cancer. If you’re new here, please subscribe to receive notice
of my new videos. Now I’m going to share with you the five different ways that
you can use to naturally help drain the excess fluid out of your body. At any
point along this video, feel free to check out the show notes below with the
links and I will list out everything that I mention in this video so that you
can find them. So, first of all, I want to talk about edema. Edema is a swelling
that is caused by the accumulation of excess fluids in the body’s soft tissues.
How does it happen? Well, basically, it can be caused by different health issues.
Some of the more common ones that can lead to edema include heart failure,
kidney disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and if the swelling occurs in
the arms and legs, then it’s called peripheral edema. If it occurs in the
peritoneal or abdominal cavity, then it’s called ascites. The most common cause for
ascites is from liver cirrhosis, but it can also be due to various cancers, like
colon cancer, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast
cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and lymphoma. So, if you notice this
developing, you definitely want to take action to resolve these issues as
quickly as possible because they can lead to additional complications to
further down the road. How do you know if you have edema? First of all, you’re going
to notice some swelling that could occur in your feet, legs, hands, arms, or abdomen.
There are two kinds of edema: there’s pitting edema and non-pitting. With pitting edema, what you’re going to notice is when you press down on your
skin for a few seconds, your skin is not going to rebound like it normally does,
and it’s going to remain indented. Here’s an image that you’ll see when I put my
left foot on my right leg where it created this indentation and imprint of
my foot that actually stayed there. I know it’s crazy, but I want you to be
able to recognize this. Next, there’s non -pitting edema where it’s in the later
stages, and in this image you’ll see my legs are extremely swollen and it’s very
painful. I want you to be aware of this so that you can actually learn
about natural ways that you can use to help drain this excess fluid out of your
body. Lymphedema occurs when there’s damage to the lymphatic system. This
could be due to perhaps having a tumor press up against the lymphatic pathway where
lymph fluid can back up. This can also be due to treatment where, for example, if
you have certain lymph nodes removed, this actually disrupts the lymphatic
pathway. When I was in hospice, this became probelmatic for me because both of my
lungs actually collapsed and filled with fluid and so it was really hard for me
to breathe. I had to be put on oxygen, and even then it came to a point in time
where I was literally gasping for air. This is really a frightening
experience because no matter how hard I tried to inhale there just wasn’t enough
air getting into my lungs and into my body, and this can be very distressing,
and so I don’t want you to have to experience this. So that’s why I am wanting
to share this information with you. Know that you don’t have to go through this
alone, so be sure to check out my website where you can actually request a
consultation with me so that you can have my support and advice on resolving
this, or other health issues. So what can you do when you’re in this situation? Five
things: Number one is you can take some natural diuretics. What are diuretics?
Diuretics are things that actually increase the flow of urine from your
body so you’ll actually end up having to use the bathroom more frequently. One
that I like to use, and liked a lot, was actually something called corn silk
tea ,and yes, this is the silky white threads that you see on the end of a
corn stalk, like when you eat corn on the cob, and so you can actually save some of
this and I would recommend using organic corn since most of the corn in this
country is genetically modified. Or, you can also go to your natural health
market where you can actually purchase corn silk, and it comes dried up. It’s
brown color, and you can basically just add this to your cup, and add I would
fill it to like about a third cup full of the corn silk, and then you would add
boiling water to this, and steep it for three minutes, and drink it three times a
day. You can also use something like dandelion where, yes, that’s the weed that
grows outside in your backyard, but I like to actually use dandelion leaves in
my salad, I juice dandelion leaves, and I also like to drink
roasted dandelion root tea. So this is something that you can actually
purchase also in your natural or organic market, which is very helpful to help
encourage just the flow of the fluids out of your body. Something else is
called black cumin seed. If you’re not familiar with that, it looks a lot
like black sesame seeds, so they’re very tiny. They actually come out of the
middle-east and, unlike sesame seeds, they actually have a very pungent
kind of a flavor and aroma, and so if you’re not used to it it might be a bit
strong for you, but I actually like it and I actually incorporate black cumin
seeds into my salad dressings, and I like to sprinkle it on my foods, and so that’s
something that you can definitely try. Hawthorne berry is another one, along
with hibiscus flower. Both of these are very high in Vitamin C and hibiscus
flower, in particular, is very helpful for actually improving your kidney
filtration. So, if you’re dealing with any kind of kidney issues I would definitely
recommend that you incorporate this into your regimen. Horsetail plant is another
one. It’s a plant and it’s really super high in silica, which would be very
beneficial for your teeth, your nails, your bones, and your hair, but it’s also a
really great diuretic. Green tea is another natural diuretic, which can also
fight cancer because of something that it has in it, called ECGC. I’m not going
to cover that now, but I’m looking at it more for the form of caffeine that it
has in there that basically can cause your body to release excess fluids, but I
do want to caution you because it does have this form of caffeine, and so if you
drink too much of it, it can overstimulate your adrenal glands which
you don’t want. The second thing that you can do is actually to incorporate lots
of different vegetables into your diet. Some of the very helpful ones would
be ones like asparagus, things like onion and garlic, and also there’s something
called turmeric root, which I’m sure most of you are familiar with, but in case
you’re not, turmeric root is actually in the same family as ginger, and ginger is
actually another helpful thing that you can incorporate into your diet, but
getting back to the turmeric it’s a powerful anti-inflammatory, and I
actually created another video on that, so please be sure to check out that
video on turmeric root. The third thing that you can do is to use essential oils.
Some of my favorites are lavender essential oil,
and you made me more familiar with this from an aromatherapy perspective, where
you’re inhaling the lavender which can be very calming and soothing to your
nerves, but it’s also a very powerful anti-inflammatory. So if your legs or
your feet, or your ankles are swollen with the fluid, you can actually use some
of this lavender essential oil, and just rub it on topically. Another essential
oil would be juniper berry essential oil. Now, juniper berry essential oil can
actually extract fluid from your skin and research has shown that it’s very
effective in fighting infection, and this is very important because, for example,
when half of my right lung was filled with fluid and 1/3 of my left lung was
filled with fluid that made it very easy for there to be just an oxygen depletion
within my lungs, where bacteria could overgrow and that could lead to a
condition called sepsis, which is a systemic-wide infection in your body
that could kill you. So this is not something you want to play with. As soon
as you notice that there is some fluid or if you’re feeling shortness of breath
from the fluid seeping into your lungs, you definitely want to start
implementing some of these items into your regimen. The third essential oil
that I just want to mention is cypress essential oil. This is very helpful at
improving circulation and therefore that can actually help to reduce edema as
well. The first three things that we covered, just to review very quickly, are
natural diuretics, natural foods that you can use to help, natural essential oils
that you can incorporate into your regimen, and now the fourth thing that
I’m going to cover is exercise. The lymphatic system in our body is actually
how our immune system is able to work. A lot of our white blood cells are within
this lymphatic fluid and so anytime you have bacteria, viruses, or fungus, it
actually needs to be neutralized through the immune system. To rid your body
of these toxins, it has to flow through your
lymphatic system, and so you definitely want to be sure that you’re exercising. This is really super important because the lymphatic system, unlike the
cardiovascular system, which has its own pump with the heart, the lymphatic system
doesn’t have that, and so the only way this fluid is going to move is if you
move, and so this involves contracting your muscles, it involves walking, running,
jogging, if you’re able to, but if you’re not able to do that I would highly
recommend using a rebounder, which is like a mini trampoline where you can
just–you don’t even have to have your feet leave the rebounder; you can
actually just keep your feet on there and just gently bounce, and this bouncing
motion will actually help to stimulate the flow of the lymphatic fluid. And the
fifth thing that you can do, if you’re struggling with edema is to look for a
manual lymph drainage therapist. This is someone who is skilled at very gently
manipulating areas in your body where there’s actually congestion to help
move some of this lymphatic fluid out so that it can flow again. And now, I’ve
got a question for you. From this video, which the five tips that I shared jumped
out at you, or grabbed you, or maybe, you have some other tips that you would like
to share, and if so please share that in the comments below. Some of the best tips
can actually show up in the comments and so please become a part of this growing
community of people who are healing naturally and holistically. Thanks so
much for watching! Please don’t forget to subscribe. If you appreciate the info
that you just heard, please like it, share it, and just think about someone you know
who needs to hear information, and leave a comment below. Let me know if you want
to hear about future topics in my future videos, and I’ll be glad to incorporate
some of those ,and so, the other thing I wanted to encourage you to do was to
just check out the show notes below, check out my website, and feel free to
request a consultation with me if you’re struggling
with this or if you want to just get on my exclusive email list, and so thanks so
much for watching until next time, please put into practice some of these tips you
heard, so that you can love your life and live in health! Thank you so much!
Take care.

  3. Hello my mom is in hospital suffering from cancer disease. Her body is swelling with edema.doctors gave her 6-8 weeks to live. She cannot eat through her mouth and they feed her through the tube put on her stomach. Please please help me by suggesting the best solutions. Please I dnt have enough time. Thank you

  4. You will enjoy this one… I was watching your video "as" I was rebounding! Quite fun to see you bring it up! You mentioned input of other causes… First off, I want to warn all sentient beings that its very easy to get sucked down the fear drain pipe and over fear what appears to be growing issue of foot edema. Fear is used as a sales tactic but 90% here know that… The first cause not mentioned is something called Lymphatic Filariasis — parasites in the lymph received via mosquito bite from another person "with" this parasite. Its really nasty but mostly shows up in the southern hemisphere and central Asia — but its often NOT mentioned with edema. Also, at some point as the numbers grow of simple foot pooling, will be the inclusion of close proximity Radio Frequency Radiation and Wi Fi in combination with "Abnormal Sitting Syndrome" (ASS) LOL. Blood Cell Abnormalities appear to be demonstrated in pictures, remembering of course a smart meter is simply a powerful cell transmitter so again – valve the fear drain pipe. But there appears to be evidence that RF in some cases will tweak the boundary layer in blood cells perhaps rendering them less elastic. https://www.activistpost.com/2015/12/red-blood-cells-and-smart-meters.html Also: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1382668915300594 Deep Dive links here: https://www.emfanalysis.com/research/

  5. Thank you. very good, at this time in y life I'm researching Candida and feel that an invasion of this fungus could create some similar problems…Your research is very good…

  6. Lots of interesting tips there I hadn't heard before although I'm not sure where I'd find many of these natural medications. The doctor said I have an Adrenal condition on my ankles. I hadn't even noticed it before. But he also said I have Atrial Fibulation, which I tried to tell him could be as a result of Bronchitis. However, I never felt that I was really listened to by a doctor. They just seemed to want to push pills at me. But do you really think that rubbing lavender oil on might be a good idea for reducing it? I don't think I'd want to go around smelling of lavender oil. And I was also told by a cardiologist that I have fluid on my lungs (although he never showed me the x-ray to prove it). But then I had my breathing diagnosed a few days ago by another doctor. She said that my lungs are now clear. Does that mean that my ankles and lower legs may follow?
I like to ride my bike for exercise. What do you think of bike riding?

  7. Many years ago I was told that hydrangia flowers will help with edema. I used it at that time and it seemed to help but a few years ago I tried it and it didn't seem to do much but maybe it would help someone else. Keep up the good work.

  8. ok i have found Local Honey and Frankincense oil to keep congestion and infection to Neill !!! I tale 1 TLB spoon Honey to 5 Drops Frankincense Oil hold in back of Throat for 1-2 min ! Big Bonus no Sore throat ,cough Gone and Builds Immune like nothing i have tried ! 6 Months now and completely free from aliments .Now i know this is important to keeping your system clean and that is why i Posted !!! God Bless thx for the info as well.

  9. Thank you for this information. I was not aware that the essential oils you mentioned could be used to aid in relieving excess fluid in the body. I am so thankful for your healing and for the great work that you are doing.

  10. I have very painful oedema. I have been taking off a lot of fluid through peritoneal dialysis, but it seems like the fluid that is giving me grief is more syrup like and tender to touch. The lymphatic drainage is something that I think I should investigate further. Thanks for your effort to illuminate the options at hand to get on top of swelling

  11. The cornsilk tea, Hibiscus, Black Cummin seed, Cypress, were very good tips. Looking to try the corn silk tea! I never heard of corn silk tea. Thanks again!

  12. Thank you for this info. I had much of it, but the info on foods and herbs expanded what I have found.
I will be using your info right away, especially the exercise. If I find something to add, I will post it
I have a question: Are you familiar with "Moringa Oleifera" standardized 425mg capsule supplements? Moringa is reputed to be highly nutritious and good for anti-edema. Do you have info about it?

  13. Thank you for putting so many things together to help with this condition. I’ve tried many of them but not all of them. Something that helped me was using Horse Chestnut Tincture. It’s an herb. I get it at a health food store for about $10 & it helps support the veins. I got immediate relief of edema. It tastes nasty so I put mine in juice. I also have Congestive Heart Failure so I also take Hawthorn Tincture, it helps the heart & the veins & it tastes great straight from the bottle. It took awhile but my red & brown spots eventually cleared up. One caution for Horse Chestnut: if you have High Blood Pressure it will make your BP go higher.

  14. dierk niessen: Thanks for the video. My name is dierk niessen, I am a German, living in Thailand. I kind of guessed, that my problem actually comes from the Beta-Blocker, that my body had to swollow for 7 years already. I had heartsurgery 7 years agoin Berlin. Eversince I was told to gulp down every day 5 tablets: Metoprolol, Simvastatin,ASS100,Ramipril and Torasemid and I believed those arrogant "Gods in White" as I am still an uneducated little Nothing from Germany. But now I am buisy training mymiddle-finger. I have some time ago changed my diet, but the swollen ankles won't go a way. I skipped the coffee and turned toginger tea. I also use a special drink every morning: turmeric/Blackpepper/Chilli/applecider/coconut oil/onion-juice/honey/garlic/ginger Mix on an empty stomage. No processed food. No cowmilk, no smoking or alkohol, no wheat or processed corn,no meat or any eggs—– only vegetables– I already succeeded in fighting the white skincancer and trimmed my grown prostrateback to walnut-size with Yoga exercise and fasting. But my swollen feed and ankles still remain. Please write to me:[email protected]

  15. I have DI or diabetes insipidus. Now how do i drain the fluid in a safe manor? I need to be cognitive in regards to the dehydration that I have occurring daily, but still be able to drain safety the lymphatic system.

  16. How did you overcome ovarian cancer? I’m amazed how you healed and was able to leave hospice given that they gave you 4 weeks to live. Please forgive me, I’m not trying to be insensitive. I’m just amazed how you cured yourself.

  17. You may have been able to reduce your edema by eating more phosphorus, magnesium and potassium foods such as
nuts, seeds and beans. The above nutrients help energize your mitochondria, which would produce more ATP (major energy molecule) which increases the activity of Na-k atpase. This increased activity would take the water from outside of the body cells and put the water back into the cells and thus reduce the edema. This is how the body normally controls edema. Also , when you eat these nuts, seeds and beans take a chewable enzyme that has protease, amylase, lipase, cellulase, hemicellulase and phytase in order to digest these fibrous seeds, nuts and beans to release their nutrients.

  18. Thank You, for the information. I have edema either from thyroid disease or ITP and just coming off off of steriods. Either way I need to walk more and eat better.

  19. Somehow in my internet surfing, I happened to come across this video. I can't tell you how helpful your tips were. Believe me, I took notes. I intend to watch all the videos you have uploaded here & honestly try some of your suggestions. I made sure I subscribed to your channel & let you know your presentation was spot on. You had my attention from beginning to end. I hope you were to conquer your battle with cancer & made the decision to help people like me that know how long it takes to inform people that are desperate for holistic medications so as not to needlessly suffer from the side effects from drugs from big pharmaceutical companies. I don't usually leave comments but, in this case I felt compelled to let you know just how much all your research, personal experience & the way you present your videos have made quite an impression on me since fluid retention in my lower legs swelled to the point of "weeping" which landed me in the hospital for 8 days with 4 different types of IVs. So whatever it takes to not have to go through that experience again is certainly worth a try. Thank you so much Deanna Won!!

  20. s. Won can you get adeema from lack of rest or a whollen knee pain. i have swollen feet and leg when i do not get sleep or work alot of hours. Thank you for your video very helpful.

  21. Thank you so much! I have always known about veggies that could help with edema, but the essential oils is new information for me! I also had never heard of the Turmeric before. I look forward to future videos.

  22. Hi, could you please help me with this. My sister got swelling in her legs and ankles after she gave birth to baby. And today she said her stomach was a bit red too. She is in hospital and afraid. How I can help her by understanding it and fixing it naturally or in hospital. This will be great help. Thank you

  23. Very nice.

Can increase natural potassium diet and should reduce factory made food to avoid high sodium content so not no water retention

  24. Thanks so much for sharing this Deanna. So glad you’re here giving help to us all. And also so glad you survived your journey.

  25. Thank u so much for your video. When my Momma were younger they did a hold lots of nature remedies! Like the corn silk for infection and many other things. I have a question. What can we do nature for gouts? I am very close to a 94 year old lady. Very dear to me.? She just got over gout in her big toe. And she took the gout medicine for 4 day the swollen and big toe went down. But she has been so fatigue and weak! She doesn’t eat correctly at all. She do have congestion heart failed. I been watching her closely. She only eat a good breakfast. No vegetables much at all or fruits. Very little. Today she were taken to the doctor to see exactly what going on. If u can help me out of what I should do to help me!! Please give me your advise. I recommend a protein drink and vitamins. To just give her some strength to be able to move. Hopefully the doctor will suggested something too! Thank u so much for your time and video were great!💞

  26. Hello, can you or anyone tell me how to stop the fluids from leaking out the top of my left foot and left leg? I have nothing that I can think of to stop it's leakage so I can wear once again my compression socks. In wound care, my nurse would rub me with a lotion and then re-wrap my foot an leg. Somehow that eventually stopped the leakage but I can't have the same wraps he uses just a few I have from the emergency room they let me use and they are not the same. I can't make the fluid stop leaking!

  27. I had ovarian cancer about 10 years ago. I ended up with lymphedema in my left leg about 5 years after my surgery. It is about 3-4 times the size of my right leg. I had an MRI and the doctor said they removed the lymp nodes when I had the hysterectomy. Thank you for your video. I will keep watching in hopes they will one day come up with a cure.

  28. Thanks. Copd is my problem edema in my feet and ankles although not severe it is bothersome. Treating copd with homeopathic tinctures such as Mullein, Osha, breath right cordyceps
Nopalea derived from the Nopal cactus. Vinpocetine, DHEA DMSO, and colloidal silver. Along with vitamin dr. Libby's original formula C sodium l ascorbate, and sublingual B12 choline and inositol 500 mg each. Moringa oleifera about 15,000 mg a day. Along with dr. Berg's D3 &K2 and magnesium oxide , selenium 200 milligrams. Quercetin 800 mg associated with bromelain 165mg .
At times I do licorice root tea along with various other teas. Is there any thing else that you can suggest? Thanks for the video very informative. I do what I can to keep the inflammation down

  29. very helpful video,Mam timely too.last week my husband ,he is already a heart patient, felt very hard to breathe,it was 5 oclock in the morning and we were scared.we took him to the hospital and Dr told that his lungs had fluid in them we stayed there for 2 days and came home after that. we were told to have only seven fifty ml of water.my husband is so depressed.i just want to know ,is this water control very necessary? and our way of reducing water retention in our legs during pregnancy is we take barley water regularly after seventh month.will this method be useful for this lungs water retention too?from your tips I like to use black cumin seed tea and green tea.and offcourse turmeric water too.these are harmless medications thank you and please answer my ouestion

  30. Now let's see, what "Jumped out" at me. 😉 I believe that the rebounder sounds like a great idea. A few decades back (or so) I had a rebounder, and I do not even remember as to "why" I had it, LOL, but I remember it was prescribed for a four year old who had various digestive problems, and for instance, could not digest Phenylalanine. I guess it was that the Christian teacher I knew at that time (Max), highly recommended such things. Essential oils, each of those, i.e. Lavender, Cypress, and to some extent Juniper I have had before, only I did not know that Lavendar's benefits were that wide-spectrum, nor did I know that Cypress stimulated circulation (I just took it along with 'Cedarwood', as I loved 'woodsy' things. As for Juniper, one of my neices gave me an opposite reference to it. (I think she misunderstood her bar-training teacher's analysis on the attributes of 'gin', umm, but what else could I expect?, with wisdom from below?) Thank you Deanna, you are very logical, comprehensive, flowing, knowledgeable, helpful, and beautiful in your presentation. You are very easily received, and I appreciate your courage, and victory, (and kindness in sharing with others) in these matters. Whoever you are dating or married to is blessed, and very fortunate.

  31. Wonderful video do you take diuretics everyday? I cunt get iwritig how oftenIvwill mail you tanknyou very much.

  32. Deanna thank you for your video very blessed by your knowledge . Your 5th tip stood out the most , never heard of manual lymph Drainage Therapist. How are the oils used do you drink them or use a misting machine are both? Look forward to watching more of your videos.

  33. I really liked the list of diuretics. On the cornsilk tea link, the pictures on amazon (that were in comments there) didn't look like cornsilk (kind of looked like black granules) and someone mentioned that the tea is from the stems. I realize those reviews may be just plain inaccurate so wanted to ask. Do you still recommend that particular tea (from the link)? Also, is it correct that it should look like black granules?

  34. Describing me to a tee .. my feet and legs get Exactly like yours .. very scary and excruciating pain.. feels like my feet and legs are gonna explode .. Sometimes they stay like that for weeks months

  35. Great tips, Deanna! I especially like the one about bouncing. I have a small exercise trampoline for my grandchildren to play on. Little did I know it would be a great treatment for my edema as well!

  36. That was fantastic. Also note, another part of the hell of edema is, a tiny scratch can lead to skin infections– even if you clean the area with antiseptic and bandage it properly. This has happened to me 3 or 4 times. I dread scraping my lower legs! That said, weight loss is essential to the cure. I quit smoking and put on weight – thus edema set in over a period of years. DO GET a natural "water pill" from the health food store (Don't get Diarex or anything from Wal*Mart!) . I wear Crocs all the time and that helps with pain too. TURMERIC is wonderful but sadly it tastes terrible . LOL. I am getting used to it now.

  37. Sadly SALT is in everything! And there really is no substitute. As replacement I use Mrs. Dash (the one with lemon) , poppy seeds, dried cilantro, curry, etc. ANYTHING to replace salt. The best supermarket replacement I have found to cook with is Herb-Ox makes a salt free chicken and beef broth. I use it in all my soups and stews. Now, it's not the best thing for you in terms of "healthy" as it does have some mono-this and dioxide-that but it's still better than salt, sugar or fats I suppose? It's not easy to find either. But give it a shot.

  38. Hi again: I just tried something last night and I noticed improvement today! I took 4 spoons of coconut oil in a small sauce pan. I sliced about 6 or 7 large pieces of ginger root . I fried them up as if I was cooking something to eat (LOL). I drained the oil into a small cup, and with a small washcloth- I applied the warm oil to my legs. I did this about an hour before bed- the oil was absorbed into my skin and there was no greasy mess after an hour or so. (coconut oil absorbs fast, so don't worry about a greasy mess if your concerned about that).
. I then elevated my legs (feet above heart, of course) on a clean towel over a large pillow. I probably slept for 5 hours with my feet up (I think new people reading this should note- elevating your legs for 20 minutes a day- is probably not enough). In the morning the swelling and redness went down , noticeably. NOTE though, in the morning is when edema is at it's mildest. It's the end of the day when it's horrible . Also NOTE: I had kale and garlic with my LIGHT dinner as well. Again BIG HEAVY MEALS make your legs worse even if you have no salt! Please remember that. Also 75% of your meal should be vegetables or legumes (beans) -and potatoes do not count really as a "vegetable". LOL. (I wish it did!) . And remember NO fast food, NO diet soda either – it has sodium !!

  39. The one thing that stood out from your video was the horsetail. I never heard of this herb. I'm going to do some research because if it's good for your bones like you mentioned, it might help increase the density of the bone, which is what I'm looking for. Thanks for your video.

  40. Ms. Won, I drink pure cranberry juice which acts as a natural diuretic. I also sleep with my legs elevated at around a sixty-degree angle which helps out greatly. I also consume ginger which is also a natural diuretic. All of these things combined have helped me feel a whole lot better.

  41. P.S. One more tip that helped me: I got 2 ACE bandages. I wrapped them around my feet & ankles. Snugly OVER my compression socks which I was already wearing. Then I put my legs high above my head against the wall of my bedroom. I took the bandages OFF after about an hour . My ankle bones were more pronounced and the swelling seemed lesser. (When my ankles swell up, I cannot locate my ankle bones quickly!!)

  42. Thanks for wonderful tips!!!

  44. I recently went off rx medicines that didn't seem to help. I use essential oils and serrapeptase now. Also drinking more water, raising my feet above my heart and some days I put on compression socks in the morning when my ankles are back to normal. My ankle swelling resolves overnight, so my battle is keeping it at bay. I want to try lavender oil next–that jumped out at me, plus the corn silk and horsetail teas. I liked that you recapped halfway and Ms. Won, you have a new subscriber!

  45. Thanks so much for sharing! I had been suffering from un-diagnosed Edema for years, after being told by several doctors not to worry about a little fluid. After finally taking myself to therapy on the advice of a close friend I was able to better understand my condition. Additionally, my therapist advise me stop taking the water pills that had been prescribed by another doctor, as they can make the fluid difficult to discharge. I am now in the process of buying compression socks, and under garments, but they can be pricey on a limited income, so I am taking a water aerobics class which is the most comfortable physical activity for me as I have severe arthritis in my knee.

  46. My feet were swollen like balloons for 5 years. I went from a size 11 to a size 15 EEEEE shoe size. When I started taking B vitamin complex twice a day they shrunk back to normal in 8 days. Medical doctors don't know shit.

  47. I can't thank you enough for this video. It's more information and better information than I have gotten in years from any GP or my cardiologist. I have used essential oils, but I am often confused about how to use them, especially for edema caused from hearth failure and liver disease … I have both along with many other health issues. I have whole body edema so would be hard to massage on my entire body. Are there specific points to use the oil? Or am I to inhale them? Another question … do dandelion root capsules help as well as the dandelion leaf tea?

  48. to avoid wasting time and all the faffle you have heard before in many other videos start watching at 6'….

  49. Burdock Root, great diuretic, can be a tea or cook with the root .. gobo root same thing.. also makes for nice hair! I make a tea with ginger , tumeric, dandelion root, occasionally add cardamom, or licorice root.. drink it cold most of the time.. I splash some coconut water and citrus…when serving.. drink it all day form my water bottle…(glass) Can also add to broths for stews and curries…

  50. Hi Deanna thank you for sharing your story and tips! It has opened my eyes. I’m suffering from swollen feet and legs and it’s been so Uncomfortable to walk I’m over weight and I feel I keep gaining when I watch what I eat. Im going to start drinking green tea and use lavender oil. Edema is not fun it’s painful sometimes. I miss wearing cute sandals I miss getting pedicures. I feel so helpless. How do I get rid of this water weight or what’s causing me to gain

  51. Hi Deanna, Thank you so much for your insightful information on relieving edema. I have fluid retention in my abdomen and I intend to use your advise however I have never used essential oils. How are they used? Are they consumed? or applied? or used as aroma therapy? Again thank you so much for your video!!
