Hey guys, Dr. Axe here, founder of DrAxe.com
and Doctor of Functional Medicine. Today, I’m going to share with you my five tips for
natural treatments for low testosterone. If you have low testosterone, like many men do,
you’re going to find that these natural cures will absolutely help you overcome it faster.
In fact, I think, after watching this video, if you implement my about five or six step
process here, you’re going to notice changes in probably 24 to 48 hours, that fast. The number one thing you can start to do to
overcome low testosterone is start intermittent fasting. Now, intermittent fasting, listen
to this, has been shown to increase testosterone by 400%. That’s amazing. 400% increase in
testosterone if you do it along with weight training. So, again, step one, intermittent fasting.
That basically means you skip breakfast and you eat your meals closer together. You’ll
eat three meals per day, one at noon, one at three, and your last meal around six o’clock
in the evening. So again, you’ll do three meals a day, but you’ll bring them closer
together. That’s going to allow your organs to rest, especially your liver, which is so
crucial for naturally balancing hormones, especially testosterone. So again, just doing
that alone in the morning, you’ll be drinking a lot of water. You can also do some green
veggie juice. No sugar, but again just green veggie juice and water. But that’s really
it. Then at noon, you can consume your first meal. So that’s step number one, intermittent
fasting. Number two is heavy weight training, going
in the gym at least three days a week, ideally four or five days a week, and lifting heavy
weights. That’s another thing. If you do intermittent fasting, along with heavy weight training,
you’re going to find that you are going to see huge results in your low testosterone.
Specifically, being in there at least 30 minutes, but as long as an hour or so, can be very,
very beneficial in doing heavy weight training to naturally boost low testosterone levels. Step number three is add in a lot of healthy
fat in your diet. Most men with low testosterone are consuming too much junk food, too many
carbohydrates. You’ve got to get rid of that stuff and load up on healthy fat. I want you to go for three categories of healthy
fat. Number one, healthy saturated fat. You’re going to find healthy saturated fat in coconut
oil, in raw, fermented dairy products, like raw goat’s milk kefer and yogurt, even raw
goat’s or sheep milk cheese, those things. Not conventional dairy, that will actually
damper your testosterone. Raw, organic dairy products or just coconut oil, those forms
of saturated fat. The other type of fat you need is healthy
omega-3 fatty acids. So consuming salmon a couple times a week or doing a quality fish
oil supplement is great. Also flax seeds, chia seeds, and walnuts are also great for
low testosterone. You get those omega-3s. Then mono-unsaturated fats, consuming an avocado
a day or some olive oil, and almonds, those would be the other ones that would really
help get those healthy fats that can help you naturally boost your testosterone levels. Then step four is going to be detox your liver.
Your liver is so crucial, and for most men with low testosterone, if you struggle with
frustration, unforgiveness, anger issues, those things all drop your testosterone levels
over time. So if you know that you struggle with anger, unforgiveness, resentment, any
of those issues, again especially a lot of men, resentment and frustration are huge.
I would write down a list of the people you need to forgive and forgive them. You can
do that just yourself, between you and God. Or you can do that in person, but that really
is important. Along with, again, if there’s somebody you resent, start working on your
heart issues. I really turn to the Bible for that. You can also turn to other personal
growth books for that, or seek out the help of a counselor or a good church. But really
take care of those emotional issues, specifically resentment, unforgiveness, anger and frustration,
and you’ll see that’s going to really help you cleanse and detoxify spiritually. It’s
going to also help naturally raise your testosterone levels. Then number five, you want to make sure you’re
getting specific nutrients that can help boost testosterone levels. One of the most important
is vitamin D3. If you are low in vitamin D, it will absolutely crush your testosterone
levels. So you want to be getting out in the sun 20 to 30 minutes every day. Listen, if
you are not in the sun that day, if you live up North or if you are inside all day, any
day where you’re not getting 20 minutes of direct sunlight on your skin, you want to
supplement with 5,000 IUs of vitamin D3, daily. Again, not D2, vitamin D3 daily. If you get
your blood levels tested and you’re extremely low, that’s below 50, you typically want to
do 5,000 IUs twice a day, for three months, until you get those numbers up. But listen, you can do everything in the world,
but if your vitamin D levels aren’t right, your testosterone levels will stay low. That’s
a very simple and easy thing you can do, just taking that D3 supplement to naturally support
testosterone levels. A few other supplements that can help, adaptogenic herbs, like ginseng.
Ginseng has been shown to naturally support healthy testosterone levels. A fish oil supplement,
I mentioned earlier, you want the omega-3s. Those omega-3s also may help in boosting testosterone
levels as well, and those are some of the most important supplements that you can be
taking on a regular basis. So, if you can follow those five steps, you

  12. Intermediate fasting slows down your digestive system, which is very bad for you. If you stay long time fasting, you end up with hormonal unbalance, don't do ti. The rest of the video is good. Also stay away from porn, that is the enemy number 1 for your testosterone. Do not watch porn !!!!!

  13. Love this video I am a christian and i have been struggling with low t I have hypogonadism and klinefetler/xxy what you mention will it help me?? My body does not produce any testosterone, I was on androgel 1.62% for 2 years and I got off due to horrible side effects. Any advice a friend told me to start taking pine pollen and vitamin d3 and vitamin l-arginine, Any advice would be amazing.

  15. I have tried it all…and nothing worked . zinc, magnesium, D3, boron, maca root, ashawhanda, Tongkat ali. Grass fed beef parties raised eggs. Squat. Deadlift.bench press. Fasting.8 hours of sleep . you name it ive tried it. My advice to you is go see your urologist find out why you are low T , primay or secondary hypo. And get your self in a TRT treatment I'm starying tomorrow.

  21. This guy is younger that the folks who have the testosterone problem and he never had this problem himself. Being a doctor doesn't mean he really knows what he is talking about. No proof, no references, just "recommendations". Did he actually measure the level of testosterone? Does he really know how and has the equipment for it? 1 hr heavy weight training? Really? How about ANY word about the age of man? I consider it pure BS and the collections of the recommendations from any health – related web sites. Right diet and exercising is a common recommendation to support a healthy lifestyle. Folks, be smarter!

    I would like to add that the 20 minutes per day direct sunlight only works for whites and light skin people. Dark skin people need a lot more sun due to their dense pigmentation.

  31. I'm 23 very healthy and muscular, eat very clean and fast. I quit taking my mineral supplements such as zinc and b vitamins and wanted to get them through food. I noticed that when I got my testosterone checked it was very low. Low sex drive etc why do I need more supplements why can go get them through food ??
